Hi everyone! My name is Soli and I’m a researcher who specialises in Public Participatory Geographic Information Systems (PPGIS), creating maps of people's perceptions and experiences across landscapes. I’m originally from Greece, but I’ve been living in Cork for the last 3 years. I love languages, SCUBA diving, baking, writing poetry, and all things natural.
I’ve created a survey for residents of the Iveragh Peninsula to help us learn more about how local communities feel about their natural environment. I want to give you the opportunity to share your local knowledge with me, and whether there’s anything in your environment you’d like to learn more about!
By asking questions about the local landscape and wildlife and using maps to pinpoint special areas of interest, I will create engaging maps that show natural features and species that are important to residents of Iveragh. This information will help guide the research and development of our environmental and educational programmes in the region.
The survey is completely anonymous and takes an average of 20 minutes to complete. If you would like to participate, click here
