World Curlew Day is a grass-roots initiative, supported by major environmental organisations, to raise awareness of the plight of curlews.

These Curlew Educational Resources was developed for World Curlew Day as part of the LIVE Project’s environmental education programme.

We’ve put together a range of resources for you to learn more about these wonderful lizards: what they look like; tips on where you might see them; the adaptations they have to survive in cold weather. There are activity sheets, an educational video and lots more….

The Red-billed Chough is one of Ireland’s most unique species of crow. If you can get close enough to see its bright red legs and red beak, these features set it apart from all of the other crows present in the Irish landscape. 

Maude Jane Delap (1866 - 1953) was a pioneer self-taught marine biologist who lived on Valentia Island for most of her life. The research she carried out on plankton and jellyfish was ground-breaking at the time and helped build much of our knowledge around jellyfish life cycles.
